I am happy to supervise BA, MA, and PhD theses on various areas within contemporary ethics. I am particularly interested in debates about desert, egalitarianism, and property–but am also willing to supervise theses on the ethics of markets, the meaning and future of work, moral status, personal identity, the value of life and death, and wellbeing. Until summer 2028, I have a reduced teaching load because of a research grant.


PhD supervision

Spring 2026 – onwards. Eefje de Gelder (Tilburg University), with Prof. Dr. Johan Graafland, on the ethics and economics of mainstreaming fair trade through certification.

Fall 2025 – onwards. Benjamin Mullins (Erasmus University Rotterdam), with Prof. Dr. Constanze Binder, on how to account for individual contributions to collective action problems in ethics.

At Tilburg University, I developed a research integrity training that is mandatory for all PhD students at the university and taught it myself many times. The training is now taught by colleagues, but it still has the same format and content.
